OF MICE AND MEN John Steinbeck The story “Of mice and men” is about two friends; George Milton and Lennie Small, their friendship and their common dreams. The story takes place in the Salinas Valley of California in America in 19th century. In the beginning of the novel they get a job working on a ranch together. Lennie is slightly retarded and has great physical strength that isn’t too controllable. Lennie relies on George for guidance and help. They save their money in hope of raising enough money for a ranch of their own. While working at the new ranch they meet a guy named Candy who wants to be part of their dream, he helps out with the money he has saved and will get. Now their dream seems to be within reach. Before this dream can come true, Lennie accidentally kills the wife of the boss’s son.
