Christian Demominations
Introduction Of all the Christian denominations in the world, Catholicism and Pentecostalism are very different in practice. Of course all Christian streams believe in the same God, the same messiah, and the same gospel, but what makes them different is the way they interpret the scriptures. How does Pentecostalism differ from Catholicism? (Pentecostalism) Origins The Pentecostal religion started on the first year A.D on the first day of Pentecost. This was the day where the apostles were in a hotel and they all had a little fire flame on their heads and they went out side and spoke in tongue. Religious Practices The Pentecostalism community believe in a more personal relationship with God. The main emphasis is they believe that God is a personal God. They encourage speaking in tongues which is where they prey in gibberish. They put a lot of emphasis on having faith in God to do things such as performing miracles and healing. They call the lather faith healing which involves believing in God will heal illnesses and physical ailments. They believe in having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and like to express this through their worship. One form of worship is music; they use this to get closer to God. Where they worship They worship in a building called the church.
