To the future or the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone-to a time when truth exists and what is done can not be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of double think- greetings (27). This line clearly shows the type of world Winston lives in. This line summarizes all the things that Winston hates about his life and yearns to have in it. Before reading this line, I had a sense that Winston was unhappy and resented his life. In his description of his life, it is clear why he has such hatred for his life and is so unhappy.
