Silence had captured the room full of audience as I approached the stage. It was the first time I had to speak in front of thousands of people coming from different backgrounds. Friends and family members cheered my name as i pulled out the piece of paper from my folder---the paper in which I had exrpressed all my talent, the paper in which I had written my very first poem. Nervousness gripped every nerve inside my body, and I closed my eyes to think about the moments I had spent prior to this special moment.
