When reading Frye’s article on oppression, it made me realize that oppression comes in different aspects of any person’s life as much as a person’s age, sex, race, sexual orientation, economic status, or anything that a person could be categorized under. Oppression is a form of discrimination. In this paper, I plan to show how many Frye’s definition of oppression relates any general person. I would like to relate Frye’s definition to a guy named Joe, but first let me explain his situation. Joe was born to a black, single parent, lower class household along with two younger sisters.
