Forms of Binary Oppositions in the Novels of Margaret Atwood
Margaret Atwood is inarguably the most prominent Canadian novelist. Her works have been received well not only in Canada, but in Europe, America and India too. Starting first as a poet I 1960s she has to her credit half a dozen novels and also the first authentic book of criticism on Canadian literature. Not much criticism has appeared on Atwood, and whatever criticism there is, suggests that she has either been branded as a pure and simple feminist writer or a robust nationalist writer. Though not denying the fact that her feminist concerns are visible in almost all her works, it will be underestimitating her if one read her works purely from a feminist angle.
