Differences between the sexes seem so clear in our daily lives that more prominent factors are often neglected. As a certain sex we are likely to discover the differences that tear us apart from the opposite sex. Nonetheless, it is not only the differences with people from the opposite sex we encounter. Considering the differences people have in character and educational background, there are greater differences depending on individual, than between the sexes. Defining gender differences can never be easy. Endless errors are found in course of using the right information such as correct and permanent statistical evidence. Gender differences are often based on inappropriate information that leads to stereotypes. According to the phenomenal bestseller by John Gray, individual differences are oversimplified by the famous definition, ¡®Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus¡¯. The information given to the readers throughout the book helps communicating by identifying the general characteristics of men and women. However, from a different point of view, this can be no more than stereotyping, since there is such a large spectrum of what women are like and what men are like. Before grouping the entire sex together, individual differences should be considered. Once we gather all the behavioral patterns that differ greatly according to each person, it will be almost impossible to define the distinctive features of each sex without discovering any exceptions. Additionally, the statistics used in comparing the sexes are constantly changing. Historically people changed to be more aware of their rights and their gender roles. For example, women have changed their viewpoints towards the world as their social status dramatically changed. Thus, it is no longer true that in the modern society, all women dream to be a good, obeying wife as a lifetime occupation.
