In America many horrible things have happened. It amazes me to hear of the things that occur to people of the same age as me. I feel that the given statistics are astonishing, shocking, and saddening. Aside from those feelings though, I do feel that these events are to some degree preventable. I will describe exactly what I have observed in detail, and how I feel these types of issues should be delt with on a national scale. Over the past 25 years the rate of teen suicide has increased 300%. Suicide is a result of untreated depression. People with depression should deal with there problem immediately, because the longer depression is left untouched, the higher risk that person has for committing suicide. Personally, I could not imagine deliberately killing myself because I felt bad, and cannot actually relate to this problem from my own experiences. I do know that if anyone knows of a person that has a plan to commit suicide, that they should take action to prevent a possible death. If you know of someone who has a plan to do this and they have told you, this is there way of asking you to stop them (whether it is conscious or unconscious).
