Section One Question One Throughout time, there were misogynistic attacks against women in both literature and daily life. However, during the English Renaissance women had the opportunity to stand up for their rights. Pamphlets were written and distributed that would defend the allegations made in by men. Although the women that wrote the pamphlets weren’t allowed to openly disapprove of the misogynist thought, they had an outlet to vent and ear to listen. The time of the English Renaissance was an era of change. It sparked education and a revived interest in both classical Greek and Roman literature. More importantly, an emphasis was placed on life as a worthy event in and of itself. The idea during medieval times placed an emphasis on present life being a preparation for a future life.
