I don’t agree with either philosophies by Hobbes or Rousseau, and instead have my own theory that incorporates elements of both philosophies. My personal philosophy is that man is born peaceful and generous, and that man’s environment takes away from the goodness and can change man for the worst. The reason I don’t believe either of the philosophers theories and have therefore come up with my own is simply because both philosophies don’t reflect real life; if Hobbes was “right”, than wouldn’t the “supreme ruler” be born greedy and corrupted as well?
