On June 2, 1946 after overthrowing the monarchy and the dictatorship, Italy became a Republic, or some would say, a “Democracy”. This day is marked as La Festa Nazionale “A National Holiday”, one of the symbols of the state and since 1948 it has been a tradition of the Armed Force to march in the center of Rome in Via Dei Fori Imperiali. The ceremony is sponsored b the President of the Republic and by the Department of the Armed Force.
