Being A Child Again WHEN was the last time you took a walk? What did you see? What did you feel? Have you ever noticed if the roses in your front yard were blooming? Was there a cloud up in the sky? Or were you too hurried to even pay attention to these things? Can you still recall when you last strolled along the beach or walked barefoot in the park? Or feel the soft droplets of rain on your arms? Or are these activities alien to you now and you’d rather go to the mall than pick a seashell; watch a movie than lie on the grass? We live in a time when technological inventions defy age, time and space. This is the age when you can chat with total strangers from across the globe; when time is better spent in front of the computer surfing the world with just the click of a mouse. This is the time when a good part of our waking hours are spent furiously making a living, which is continually dictated by economic forces. Indeed we are all caught up in this raging tide of fast-paced living when we neither have the time to stop, nor think nor feel. Today life could be likened to a forever-spinning top. Time moves too fast, catching everything and everyone along its path. The needs and pressures of everyday living seemed to have cast a spell on everyone. And we are easily swept into this magical web called working environment. The obsession to earn more and more everyday is like an addictive drug that slowly seeps into our system.
