A Conditional Love
An unconditional love. Nothing can get in the way of two people who's hearts are completely drowned in the love of another person. That is, unless, the law forbids it. The Alliance for Marriage took battle against gay rights, claiming that gay marriage would accelerate the "tide of family disintegration" in the United States. "Our nation cannot go forward unless our laws send a positive message to children about marriage, family, and their future," said Matt Daniels, the executive director from Alliance (Ghent). This man obviously believes that homosexuals are a disgrace and shouldn't even be. The positive message our laws should send to children is not to discriminate, and to treat everyone with the respect the Constitution promises everyone. If they decide that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to marry one another, we should change the constitution to "We the straight people" and let the rest of the world see exactly how the people of America behave. Americans claim their country to be the land of the free and home of the brave. Free to express ones emotions openly with whomever they find close to them, male or female. A person shouldn't have to be brave to admit they're attracted to someone of the same sex. "[Gays and lesbians] are so used to [the treatment] that it no longer even seems like discrimination," says Holly Auer, reporter for the Buffalo News.
