Many people immigrated to colonial America for many different reasons, these reasons ranged from political, social, and economic opportunities . People in England were ruled under a monarch type government, they were also assigned a religion to which they had to follow or they would be killed. England didn’t have much land and whatever they did have wasn’t really fertile , it was nothing compared to the rich soil in America. Economic reasons for immigrating to America were obvious, they had a hunger for land and they knew exactly where to get it from. America was a land of untamed fertile land it was one big opportunity. The south was a civilization based on plantations, on these plantations were slaves, these two things were what kept the south running that was what it was based on.
