I’m doing my talk on single parent hood, and the issue on weather 2 parents are really better than one, I’ll talk to you about the bad sides and the good, and then I’ll leave you to make up your own mind on this issue. Why divorce? 31% unfaithfulness 19% growing apart 16% unreasonable behaviour 5% violence 4% Alcohol 2% lack of money 2% boredom 2% in laws 2% career presser 2% lack of respect The Impact Firstly there are the problems directly from the impact here is just a few: The child may… Feel a sense off loss feel anger towards both parents may blame themselves or even feel a sense of rejection If a divorce continues to end in a bad way then the child may: fell torn between the two parents there may be a lot of blame they may feel there not allowed to love both parents and the child may be used as a weapon These may all have lasting affects on a child, and may lead to the child having there own relationship difficulties in later life Now these are all what we assume a divorce would be like, or know ourselves unfortunately form or own experiences, but not all divorces end like that, a divorce is never easy but here’s a few things you could do that would prevent the child from suffering: openness and lots of communication So that the child not only knows what’s going on but also feels its okay to ask questions.
