1. Dionysus: Influential Through Time
Inevitable Diversion of Science and God
Science used to be the way many atheists supported their beliefs that religion is nonsense. As further scientific revelations are unfolding, the obvious presence of a higher being is becoming clearer. There are those who believe strictly in the literal meanings of the Bible. On the other end of the spectrum are those atheistic scientists who solely believe that life happened by chance and there was no outside force conducting it. However, as K.C. Cole attempts to prove in “Can God and science coexist?,” it is ridiculous to ignore either one; science is proof of God. The creative workings of God are being revealed through the astounding discoveries in the unquestionable world of science. To begin with, many scientists still believe that religion as a farce and life and the universe happened by chance millions of years ago. Life has since evolved into the way it is today. Some skeptics ask these atheists about why we have emotions if it all was an accident. The origin of these feelings comes from our neurotransmitters and other chemicals like oxytocin. Oxytocin may be responsible for the feelings of love. Scientists have simply injected unknowing rats with this chemical which resulted in their cuddling (Wright 2). So these chemicals may have been simply integrated in order to give us reason to spread life.
