Bill Gates Bill Gates( who’s real name is William) was born on October 28th 1955 in Seattle, Washington to William and Mary Gates. Bills dad worked for a Seattle law firm and his mother was a school teacher. Bill also has 2 sisters named Kristanne and Libby. When he first started elementary school all of his subjects we‘re a lot easier to him than to the rest of the kids, especially math and science. His parents saw this and switched him to Lakeside, a private school. It turned out to be a good idea because at Lakeside Bill was first introduced to computers. Bill Gates, Paul Allen and some other Lakeside students (most of them the first programmers at Microsoft) became inseparable from the computer and would stay up all day and night making programs and learning about operating computers.
