Data Analysis Introduction: The purpose of this experiment was to evaluate the differences in size length among the population of mussels from both side of the jetty (Channel and Ocean). Some of the abotic factors that would affect the sizes of the mussels would be the presence of the waves, the tide, sunlight, and temperature. The biotic factors that might affect the size of the mussels are heat, light, and desiccation. Mussels are suspension feeders; they feed by actively filtering particles from the water. Phytoplankton cells are the mussel main source of food. My hypotheses: Null hypothesis: I think there will be no differences in the size of the mussel shells. Alternative hypothesis: I think there will be a difference in the size of the mussel shells.
