Situation My 16 year old son John has regular chores he has to do on Saturday, clean his bedroom and bathroom, vacuum the house and separate laundry. John is not allowed to leave the house until we get home, unless he had permission prior to us leaving the house. What if one Saturday, we went grocery shopping and John’s friend Thomas tried to get him to go ride bikes with him before his chores were complete or before we returned? Stage 1 Preconventional – Emphasizes on punishment. John should stay home and do his chores because if we found out that he disobeyed us, he would get put on restriction.
