Efforts to throw Governor Gray Davis out of office are necessary. The fiscal management of Governor Davis has been extremely poor. Pete Wilson, the former governor of California, left behind a multi-billion dollar surplus by putting cautious limits on unnecessary government spending. During Davis’ term of office, he managed to turn this immense surplus into a record-breaking deficit. The deficit now rests at an estimated $34 billion, which tragically is greater than the combined budget deficits of every other state in America.
