On January 20th, 1961, on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., John F. Kennedy was inaugurated as the thirty-fifth president of the United States. Kennedy was the youngest candidate ever elected to the presidency, and also the country's first Catholic president. John. F Kennedy can be seen as one of the greatest speakers of all time. His “Inaugural Address” was the 2nd in the 100 greatest speeches of all time behind “I Had A Dream” by Martin Luther King Jr. John F. Kennedy was a great speaker; he had the ability to give such eloquent speeches that inspired many people. His most inspirational was his Inaugural address, which was delivered on Friday, January 20th 1961. He spoke of all Americans being active citizens, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.” I think his Inaugural Speech is one of the greatest speeches as well; the structure of the speech was very strong and it gave a strong message or purpose across to everyone that was listening.
