Grunge City (A biograpy of Kurt Cobain)
The lyrical genius Kurt Donald Cobain, lead singer of the Grunge-Rock band Nirvana lived a life of denial, anger, depression, guilt and acceptance, or sometimes lack thereof. His pain was our pain, his love was our love, his rules were our rules, and his death was our death. He screamed out our angst. People felt his lyrics, his rhythm, and most of all, his heart. Ask anyone who has ever heard a Nirvana album and they will tell you a personal story on how Kurt’s lyrics have changed their life. Kurt was real, he wasn’t fake like all of the other rock stars. “Im not like them, but I can pretend,” sang Kurt Cobain in his song entitled “Dumb.” He had a real family, real friends, and a real childhood, but most of all he had real pain and people could relate to that. Kurt Cobain was a heartfelt, deep yet literal singer/songwriter who reached out to every kid who thought their life wasn’t perfect.
