BOOK REVIEW “What you looking at me for? I didn’t come to stay…” These are the opening words of the great novel I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou. This narrative autobiography traps the readers into a web of racism, fear, disappointment, and joy. Maya takes us on a voyage into her childhood, where she is hit with the reality of life as a black girl growing up in a period of time of segregation.
