TRAMPLED TOUSSAINT!! We have all the latest information about our beloved Toussaint, read on to hear the full, terrible story. At the end of the 18th Century, the French colony of Saint Dominigue was the richest Colony in the Caribbean. At the top of the society lay the white plantation owners, below where the white workers, then came the mulattoes and finally there where the 450,000 slaves. As you all know, in 1789 the French revolution took place. New leaders of France declared that everyone in France and its colonies should have equal rights, however the mulattoes and slaves were still treated badly, worse than animals I cages. This of course led to the slave revolt in 1791. And that’s the foundation of the terrible story we are about to tell. Toussaint L’Ouverture was born a slave on a plantation in Saint Dominigue in 1743. He was the grandson of an African king and as a child was told humbling stories about Africa. This made young Toussaint exceedingly proud of his culture and determined to get rid of slavery, once and for all.
