Everyday teenagers are exposed to negative influences at the hands of contemporary media. From the time which we were born, the media has fed us societal expectations on how we should look and act, which is conveyed through movies, television, magazines and even our music. I feel that the most prominent influences the media has on us are regarding violence, drugs and their misconceptions of what men and women “should” look like. Notably, violence is one of media’s most powerful negative influences.
