At the age of seventeen, Josephine Alibrandi, the main character of the novel Looking for Alibrandi, That by the end of the novel has a better understanding of herself and the people she loves. Josephine is the vice-captain of her school, Saint Martha's and at her school they celebrated the annual walk-a-thon. Sister Louise told Josie that she had to stay behind the slow people at the back and make sure no-one gets lost, but after Sera convinces Josie to wag and see a famous signer 'Oh for God's sake, Josie. Do you want to spend the rest of the day looking after those idiots?' After they get caught from being on TV, Sister Louise explains to Josie that they weren’t outcasts and Josie isn't responsible enough to be school captain 'Do you know what responsibility is, Josephine?
