Jeanette Aubury M115786 Project 1- High-Pass Filter Introduction A high-pass filter is a device that filters out frequencies lower than its cut-off frequency. A rumble filter is an example of a high pass filter, cutting out low, rumbling frequencies in a record player. Figure 6 shows a simple circuit for a high-pass filter. Figure 7 shows the expected output from a high-pass filter. Frequencies below the cut-off frequency are filtered out. The cut off frequency can be found using the same equation used to find the cut off frequency for the low pass filter: Aims • To design and build a high pass filter with a cut-off frequency of 500 Hz.
