What motivates people to take such actions as speaking out for or against things? In many cases, it is a related incident that resuts in a tragedy that can be related back to the consequenting problem. Unfortunately, not all of us have had some experience that has given us inspiration to make a difference, and consequently are ignorant to the reality of the problems in our broken world. It is absolutely problematic that human natures makes us lazy and unaware of very serious issues and problems. I have always had sincere respect for people who gave their time and money to organizations fighting for the “better good”. It was those people who gave large donations, and long days helping campaign for non-profit organizations who I had stereotyped as being more compassionate than myself.
