The Amazing Redwoods They are one of the most beautiful inhabitants of nature and the tallest living species on Earth. They are the Coast Redwoods and today I am going to tell you a little bit about these amazing trees. The Coast Redwoods or the Sequoia sempervirens, from the Latin meaning “always green”, are from the Taxodiacae family also called the deciduous cypress family. Although they have been cultivated elsewhere, they naturally achieve their massive heights in one place in the world-a 450-mile strip along the Pacific Coast of North America, beginning in southern Oregon and ending just south of Monterey, California.
