Describe how a Christian may follow the call to discipleship through daily life and work. In this question I am going to look at what it means to be a disciple and what a disciple is. The word disciple comes from the Latin word meaning “learner”. Jesus chose twelve people to be his disciples and become close friends, in Matt 4:19, he called to them “Come with me and I will teach you to catch people”. He gave his disciples the power to perform miracles and the courage to go out and preach. When a Christian is baptised they become part of the church and become a disciple and have a commitment to follow Jesus, just like the twelve disciples.
