JIM’S ADVENTURE
In the book Jim the boy a child, a boy makes his journey to become a man. Jim a child but only ten years old goes on an adventure that would rival the likes of any major Hollywood movie today. Jim lives in who lives in Aliceville North Carolina. Through his adventures he learns life’s most important and even no so important lessons. Jim learns these lessons by the family he holds most dear to him. Throughout the book, Jim learns life’s most important lessons from his three uncles, Uncle Coran, Uncle Al, and Uncle Zeno. The first and one could consider the least influential uncle in Jims life is Uncle Coran. Uncle Coran was a large tall man. He spent his life like many others in the south farming the plantation for a living. He comes from a strict but fair upbringing that can be seen being instilled in Jim. Uncle coran was more of a quite man. He often is just a joking man. Someone who teaches with humor rather then discipline. Some might say Uncle Coran was not the most influential uncle by a long shot but that does not mean he had no impact on Jim’s life. Uncle Coran spent the least amount of time with Jim of all the uncles. He often took a less active roll in teaching Jim but the slack was surely taken up by Jims other two uncles. During the whole first part of the book it seems as if Uncle Coran is only mentioned if by requirement. But Uncle Coran did participate in life with Jim as seen when he played baseball with the other two uncles. In the end Uncle Coran left an undeniable impact on Jim’s life. The next uncle that helped Jim on his way to being a man is Uncle Al. Uncle Al like his brothers is a tall and strong man.
