Our Right to Bear Arms
Our Right to Bear Arms In the United States Constitution the II amendment states that "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed." Many people would like to argue the point of this amendment, even though it clearly states that it is the right of the people of the United States of America to own and use thier guns and that this right should not be broken or violated. It is every law abiding able citizen's right to be allowed to own and use a gun either for protection or recrational uses. The West Virginia State Constitution states in Article III-22 (which is the right to keep and bear arms) that "A person has the right to keep and bear arms for the defense of self, family, home and state, and for lawful hunting and recreational use." The government can't just take our constitutions from us and we shouldn't let them it is our right throught the United States Constitution and the West Virginia State Constitution to keep and bear arms. In our state of West Virginia in order for anyone to possess any type of fire arm they must be atleast 18 years of age or be emancipated or married. A person under the age of 18 may also possess a gun if they permission from parent or gaurdian on private property with permisssion of the land owner, or when pursuat to lawful hunting, or traveling between sites where the minor may lawfully possess such a weapon.
