What Happened? “Who am I?” is a difficult enough question to answer. An even more difficult question to answer is “How did I get to be the way I am?” My genetic make-up can explain some of the characteristics I display, as evidenced by the day I looked into my mirror and instead of seeing myself I say my 45 year old father (I was 44 at the time). Perhaps my geographic location can explain some of my behavior as I react to the particular phenomena of my region, whether it be nine months of rain or that I live in one of the most serene, beautiful places in the world. I know my behavior has been influence by living a sparsely populated, rural area (Orcas Island) as opposed to how I reacted to life in the big city (Seattle). During self-examination I can see how each of these aspects, as well as others, have influenced my way of living and participating in the world.
