Baskeball is the greatest game in the world. Physics Assessed Practical – Finding the Acceleration due to Gravity Does the Height Dropped Affect the Calculation of Gravity? Introduction In this investigation I will be attempting to find out if the height at which an object is dropped affects its calculation of g (acceleration due to gravity, approximately 9.81). As a precursor to this experiment I will first determine that mass does not affect this value, before ascertaining if height (displacement) has any effect on this value. The precursory experiment is a repeat of Galileo’s experiment off of the leaning tower of Pisa, Italy in 1829, where he dropped an apple and a cannon ball over the side and noticed that they both reached the ground at the same time.
