My Experiences in America It all started when I got engaged with Pankaj, my husband. He is a Graduate student at Sam Houston Sate University. Because he was already in America, I was suppose to join him too after getting married. I had seen America in different Hindi movies. But what I imagined was entirely different than what America was, especially, Huntsville. My husband’s uncle was financing his education and his wife was the one who came to receive us when our plane landed in Houston. She is an American, I was told about that but I was very nervous to actually see her until she came and hugged me. She broke the ice between me and her on the way to Huntsville. So my first experience was what she taught me when my husband was busy getting some stuff from Wal-Mart with his friend. The first thing she told me was that when you come to any new country then you will have option to choose between good and bad. It will depend on you as to what you choose.
