Terminator Two was a film with a lot to digest. Personally, this film is not one of my preferred titles. It is for that reason alone that this critical analysis will be difficult to conduct. Then again, perhaps because I do not like it I will be more inclined to analyze and consequently criticize it. Without knowledge of the first movie of this trilogy, the viewer will be left utterly confused with an incorrect impression of the main characters in the film. In this sequel, T-2, the “bad” Terminator from the first movie is now the protector of John Connor. Those who saw the original film and those who did not are left thinking that this Terminator is the bad Terminator. The only persons free from such a notion were probably those that might have seen the trailers and have thus formulated that conclusion. The audience gets some background, though, from the narrative given by Sarah Connor in the beginning of the film as she describes the war scene and gives a simply summary of the first Terminator movie.
