The title for the lecture by Keith Devlin, a Mathematician from Stanford, was “New Geometries – of animals, plants, and the human body.” While Mr. Devlin definitely knew what he was talking about and was well-prepared, I just don’t believe that the lecture was very high-quality. It was fascinating learning about his childhood and about how he didn’t like Math very much, but I just couldn’t get into his topic. The topic for the lecture included new geometries, including that of the 4th dimension, and how they are used in the real world today. Devlin didn’t talk very long about the Math himself before putting on a video that took up at least 50% of the lecture.
