Psychology is what scientists and philosophers of various persuasions have created to try and fulfill the need to understand the minds and behaviours of various organisms from the most primitive to the most complex. Psychology has very few boundaries and, aside from the limitations of science and ethics, it should not have any imposed by either critics or practitioners. Psychology, as a widely-disciplined subject, has many areas of study and application: Cinical Psychology: the area of psychology concerned with aberrant, maladaptive or abnormal human behaviour Cognitive Psychology: a general approach to psychology emphasizing the internal mental processes Community Psychology: where a psychological practitioner works in a variety of ways with a community Criminology: A hybrid science, consisting of a blend of law, sociology, psychology and medicine that studies crime, criminals and penology Educational Psychology: an area of psychology concerned with theories and problems in education Psychoacoustics: a discipline concerned with sound, its perception and the physiological foundations of hearing Psychoanalysis (Freud): exploration of the underlying motivations of human behaviour Psycholingustics: the study of any behaviours which are linguistic.
