The recent Chicago and Rhode Island nightclub tragedies focus a spotlight on safety for entertainment related facilities. This raises a number of risk management issues, which need to be considered, and which offer constructive opportunities for nightclubs. If nightclubs have not already received visits from State, County or Municipal Fire and Code Enforcement personnel, they will most certainly be having them shortly. This is an excellent time to take the opportunity to make certain that nightclubs meet or preferably exceed all code and life safety requirements.
