And before people say it's been there forever and all that other stuff... it was added in 1954 when the Knights of Columbus said we should place the USA apart from the "godless Communists"--a Christian organization wanting to add it for religious reasons. God does not apply to all religions--God is called Vishnu, Allah, and Yahweh, for example--and for us to be truly equal, you wouldn't need to tell a kid not to say "that line." Incidentally, the original writer was a socialist. It shouldn't be in the pledge. It isolates atheists, buddhists, wiccans, ect by forcing them to leave out that part of the pledge or not say it at all. We should have a pledge that EVERY American can say, in full. No one's stopping you from praying all you want, and saying under God, if you want to.
