Nursing Perspectives in 20 Years Nursing in the year 2023 will be totally different from now. The trends will having a number of driving forces, including technological advancements, financial restructuring, shifts in social structure, and consumer demands. Basically the trends can be broken down into different elements that will affect our Nursing outlook for the future. First cultural diversity and changing demographics will cause an increasing number in minority groups. It is predicted that by the year 2020, more then 20 percent of the population will be 65 or older, and that by 2050, the white population of the United States will no longer be the majority.
