“Many things can wait. Children cannot. Today their bones are being formed, their blood is being made, their senses are being developed. To them we cannot say ‘tomorrow’. Their name is today (Gabriella Mistral).” Could it be that our youth today is being held back by “tomorrow”? Most teen violence may have something to do with the ignorance of the parents. Although it may not be the intention of the parent, the child feels unwanted or unloved. In many of the cases, it’s the peers that make someone feel unworthy of their presence. Teenagers treat each other unfairly, which is known as bullying. In the following paragraphs I will be discussing some incidents/causes that have occurred. I will also state the effect that it had on the people. Tuesday, April 20,1999. Students from Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado went to school like any other day. But how were they supposed to know that two students, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, were going to come to school on a “suicide mission.” Eric and Dylan killed thirteen people, including themselves. They were known as the Trenchcoat mafia. Students treated them like scum; they would tease, insult and ostracize them.
