Alcohol abuse on campus
Alcohol is a big problem every where you look. It is always being abused by almost everyone who uses it. Whether it be young teens to Adults, alcohol is the most likely drug that these people will use, and abuse. One of the largest problem areas where alcohol is being abused is on the college campuses. The college student alone drink more alcohol than the general population. This is why something should be done about college drinking. Twenty-one may be the legal drinking age, but some how minors find a way to get there hands on an alcoholic beverage. Alcohol is said to be the chosen drug among college students. As I said college students drink more than the general population. It is said that college students spend approximately %4.2 billion every year on alcohol. This money could be spent on 430 gallons of alcohol, and 4 million cans of beer. There are many factors that can effect what college students do, and there decisions while in college. The type of college , the location, ethnic and gender makeup plays a role in in the amount of drinking that occurs on campus. For example colleges with fraternities and sororities have higher statistics, this is because of there sponsored parties.
