Vietnam War essay
The Vietnam War will forever be remembered as one of the United States or America’s unsuccessful military venture. No matter how you can explain it or twist the story the fact still remains that we just plain lost. We had no idea what we were getting into and for the first time is hundreds of years, we know how Great Britain felt. Although recessions are guaranteed to happen in the US economy, the Vietnam War accelerated the process. Economically the US was up against the wall even before the war. As expected, the US went GUN HO into the war without the sufficient data required to guarantee a victory in the jungle countryside of Vietnam. With the communist spreading and the growing power of the United States. The US decided it was their responsibility to stop the spread communism. The French were having trouble suppressing the revolting North Vietnamese communists led by ho chi minh. The united states government knew if Vietnam fell so would all of Asia. As the French lost ground, it was only a matter of time before the US would enter the rice fields of Vietnam.
