The character which I think that I identified with the most is probably the little boy, Steve. Steve reminded me a lot of myself when I was young. I would always obsess about baseball and I loved every aspect of it. Whenever I got something new or received something like a baseball cap or glove, I would never let go of it, it had huge sentimental value for me. Yes I believe that the father in this story coincidentally reminds me of my own father.
