For those people who live in one of the most populated area in the United States they live in a constant fear of one great thing. Earthquakes often strike southern California, unexpected and with great force. These earthquakes often cause great damage and often even take human lives. Earthquakes happen all the time in the California and Nevada areas. In this area there were 230 earthquakes since August 30, 2003. With 26 of these in the Los Angeles area, also with 45 in the San Francisco area. Scientists are constantly working to predict these earthquakes and now they have a wonderfully simple tool to help them the Global Positional System (GPS).
