Introduction Piracy is a serious problem in America today. It causes billions of dollars in losses to businesses yearly due to worldwide support by consumers. Businesses view piracy as a destructive trend with the potential to destroy industrial society. Consumers view piracy as a progressive trend offering a reasonable price for a desired good. Both views are biased; this paper's purpose is to provide an unbiased view of piracy through an examination of the ethics behind it.
