Witness In Peter Weir’s “witness” his philosophical vision is highly critical of western civilization with its decadence, corruption and violence. Weir uses the clash of cultures to explore his theme of abuse of power, corruption and love. The complexity of human relationships and the lack of exemplary leadership in society. Three scenes that I have chosen are the opening scene which introduces the Amish community and there culture, second scene is the murder scene which showing the western worlds corruption and lastly the ambush where there is a final showdown between the clash of cultures, the Amish and john books world.
