Impressions by Martin Wells Knapp is about the benefits of listening to impressions from God, and the consequences that result from listening to Satan. Martin Wells Knapp informs us of the origin of impressions, than goes into detail about impressions from below, than gives us some practical applications, and finishes off with information on impressions from above. For one to understand impressions he must first understand from where these impressions originate. Impressions can either come for God, or they can come from Satan. God uses many different ways to get his messages to us. He uses the Bible, ministry, personal influence, prayer, good reading, angels, dreams, and providences. Impressions from Satan are usually used to accuse God’s children. He does this to God’s children by putting impressions about themselves, about each other, and about the unconverted. Satan gets these impressions in our head directly or indirectly by using his evil angels, human influences, prayers of mistaken people, the flesh, ourselves, and bad reading. The only way we can figure out which impressions prevail over the other is by using our soul. Impressions from the devil are not always easy to distinguish from those from God, mostly because Satan disguises himself as the Holy Spirit, and his minions as angels of light.
