Team Problems result in Big Loss
Teamwork is the key to victory. The Footlongs definitely need to work on this aspect of the game if they are going to have a winning season. On Wednesday September 30th the Footlongs lost to the Rugs 20 to 6 in the third intramural football game of the season. lnl # Jame marred by inter team fighting and a genuine lack of enthusiasm by the Footlongs, the Rugs had an easy time achieving the win. The Footlongs began to fade away at the end of the first half This opened the door for the Rugs to waltz all over the them. Their problems started when the team captains began bickering about the role of quarterback. Bob Suprick and Mke Lilly couldn't agree on the starting QB and this resulted in the controversy that shook the team loose. Suprick ended up starting without the agreement of the whole team. This resulted in a domino effect that brought the team down. Bickering ensued from all of the players regarding their positions and the responsibilities. This ended up pulling the team down. The Rugs Quarterback Eric Schmidt took advantage of the Footlongs problems and capitalized on their mistakes. He went 12 for 16 and threw for 160 yards. He had an easy time picking through the disorganized defense of the Footlongs.
